What we believe
Although independent of any denominational affiliation, Tampa Covenant Church is proud to adhere to the basic tenets of Reformed theology, including, but not limited to, the following:
The Bible:
The singular basis of our belief is the Bible, consisting of the Old and New
Testaments. It is nothing less than the inspired, infallible, inerrant,
authoritative Word of God; entirely reliable, relevant, and truthful.
God:
We believe that there is one God, Creator and Ruler of the universe, eternally existing in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each co-equal. Each God.
Jesus Christ:
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with God and divine. We affirm the biblical teachings concerning His virgin birth, His sinless life, and His atoning work through His death, burial, and resurrection. He is now ruling, seated at the right hand of the Father and will return in power and in glory. Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and man, and the only hope for salvation
The Holy Spirit:
We believe that the Holy Spirit is co-equal with God and divine. He regenerates sinful individuals and inspires them, by His power and grace, to live godly lives. In addition, we believe that He distributes spiritual gifts to believers, enabling them to serve the church and reach out to a fallen world.
In Summary, Tampa Covenant Church is a non-denominational church that is committed to:
- The Lordship of Jesus Christ over every area of life,
- The authority of the Holy Scriptures in determining the doctrine and practice of the faith,
- The responsibility of loving one another as members of the body of Christ, and
- The proclamation of God's saving love in Christ
